Energy Society: Treasurer

Hello! I'm Jiwan, a second year Chemical Engineering student from Korea running for the position of your next Treasurer. 

As the current G3 Coordinator, I have collaborated with other universities and engaged with industry professionals to organise the G3 Summit, gaining insight into the financial needs of large-scale events. This experience has strengthened my organisational skills. With my analytical background in Chemical Engineering, I am ready to ensure the society’s financial stability and growth.

My Goals as Treasurer:

1. Efficient Fund Allocation: I will ensure that society funds are managed transparently and allocated strategically, prioritising essential expenses for key events.
2. Maximising Sponsorship Impact: I will ensure that sponsorship funds are used effectively, aligning expenditures with our society’s goals while maintaining financial sustainability.
3. Supporting the Committee: I will work closely with the President and committee members to ensure all financial decisions align with our long-term vision.

The UCL Energy Society plays a vital role in fostering discussions about the future of energy, and I want to ensure we have the financial foundation to keep innovating and growing. By managing funds responsibly and optimising sponsorship contributions, I will help make our society’s events more impactful and accessible.

Dear Energy Society Members,

I am excited to put myself forward for re-election as Treasurer of the UCL Energy Society for the upcoming academic year. Having served in this role over the past year, I have successfully managed the society’s finances, ensuring that all expenses were accounted for, and reimbursements were processed efficiently. My experience in overseeing the financial health of the society has allowed our initiatives to run smoothly, ensuring that we could fund insightful events and opportunities for our members. My passion for the energy industry is what drives my commitment to this society. I am eager to continue contributing to a platform that fosters learning, discussion, and professional development in this rapidly evolving sector.

Looking forward, one initiative I would like to introduce is on-site company visits, offering students from different disciplines the chance to witness first-hand the environments, technologies, and challenges that professionals in the energy sector engage with daily. This would provide invaluable exposure to real-world applications, bridging the gap between academic learning and industry experience.

If re-elected, I will continue to ensure the society’s finances are well-managed, allowing us to create meaningful opportunities for all members. I would be honored to continue serving as your Treasurer and contributing to another successful year for the UCL Energy Society.
