Electronic Music Society: Treasurer

From the moment I joined EMS, I felt welcomed into this community and met so many friendly faces. The society has granted me opportunities - like the chance to play at Corsica Studios, one of my favourite clubs - far exceeding my expectations. As treasurer, I want to extend this support to more members and give them the experiences I have been grateful to receive.

In my role I want to ensure that this community continues to thrive. More chances to informally catch up and attend events are crucial. I also wish to make sure training DJs get the services they need, whether it be the continued availability of DJ lessons or the new controller rental, to allow the DJ community to grow. Building on the fantastic work of this year's committee, I want to continue strengthening the inclusion of FLINTA* DJs and society members. This means ensuring financial support for safe and inclusive events and training to reshape an industry that remains male-dominated.

I envision a plethora of events in the coming year, ranging from the always loved Corsica nights to supporting our city's grassroots venues in an era of so many closures. These events will incorporate society and university collaborations to expand the outreach of our DJs. Finances underpin our ability to host these events and I believe I am fit for the task. I possess strong analytical and creative skills, and finances and problem solving have been central to my work and studies. 

EMS has given me so much and I wish to give back.
