Electronic Music Society: Head of Events

Hi! 

My name is Monica Aguilar and something that has followed me all my life has been music. It is the reason I get up in the morning and constantly keep it in my life. Moreover, events are an amazing place that allows like minded people to bond and vibe to whatever makes them happy! As someone passionate for networking, nightlife, and all things social I believe this position was made for someone like me - bubbly, ambitious and light hearted. 

If given the opportunity, I believe EMS is currently so underappreciated by the UCL community, and my emphasis would be to bring it to the forefront of people's attention as it rightly deserves. Some ideas include : disco nights,  dnb night, and most of all promoting all the amazing talent we have in our community through social media content of our events.

I'm very passionate about growing the EMS community here at UCL, creating unforgettable experiences and making it an inclusive environment for all. I currently have over 3 years of experience as a DJ, involving gigs in and around London and teaching lessons as part of the EMS society. This has given me a decent understanding of both the social and technical aspects involved with DJing and the music scene. With this experience and my general love for the game, as Head of events I will be able to provide great opportunities, showcasing new talent and enhancing our presence on campus. I'm eager to bring in fresh ideas, build new connections and organize bigger and better events. Most importantly, I will help make the music scene accessible for all, whether that be aspiring DJs, producers, emerging ravers, or people who have zero previous interest.
