Hi, I'm Esther!
I hope I’ve had the chance to meet you already, but if not—I’m excited to get to know you!

I’ve been debating for over six years, and UCL Debating Society was the first society I joined. I’ve loved making friends, competing seriously, and just debating for fun with fellow novices. The mix of high-level competition and casual debate is what makes this society special, and I want to help strengthen both sides.

I’m committed to debate—I attend basically every session. Before UCL, I established the national team, and national high school debating circuit, back home in Switzerland: organising national trials, training judges, and running workshops. All of this has given me experience in logistics, community-building, and making debate more accessible. Through attending many competitions, I’ve built connections across the debate circuit, which I can leverage to strengthen UCL’s presence and opportunities.

If elected, I’d focus on:
Inclusivity & Community – Ensuring both competitive and casual debaters feel welcome and supported. Let me be your voice!
Efficiency & Organisation – Making sure training, competitions, and events run smoothly so members get the most out of their experience.
Growth & Longevity – Expanding opportunities for debaters at all levels, from spar rounds to major competitions, and ensuring we establish a strong foundation for the future

I’m confident I have the experience and passion to serve as VP, and I’d love your support! Vote Esther!
