Dance Society: President

Hello, I’m Andrea, a second-year undergrad and I would love to be your next president! Dance Soc has brought me so much joy and I want to make sure it is an equally fun, safe space for you to try something new or pursue your passions ❤️

After spending two years on committee as Resident Choreographer and Competitions Coordinator, I have a deep understanding of how the society operates. This includes knowing all our events/opportunities and how they’re produced, how the committee is organised and communicates, and being familiar with all the behind-the-scenes admin that keeps the society running smoothly. That being said, I’m also not afraid of trying new ideas as I firmly believe we can’t grow without change! This is seen when I introduced the Choreographers Panel, co-produced the first-ever Societies’ Show, and invented a new comps audition structure that prioritised choreographers’ visions. 

My personal aims for the role include: 1) safeguarding the welfare of my committee, 2) maximising internal opportunities for all society members, and 3) integrating Dance Society into the wider artsUCL community through collaborations. I promise to be a friendly, empathetic, and trustworthy representative for Dance Soc with whom you can discuss all societal concerns. I’m deeply committed to making this society a home for everyone. I hope I've earned your vote and I promise your trust in me won’t be misplaced!
