Hi UCLCC!
My name is Grace, and I am running for Welfare Officer! Why? Since joining UCLCC in September 2024, I’ve become somewhat obsessed—whether it’s chasing Strava segments, meticulously tracking calorie intake, or optimizing marginal gains (**4.0W/kg pending 😩🙏). I am steadfast in my commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable culture that supports cyclists of all levels, from Cat 1 crit to purely recreational riders!
As Welfare Officer, my objectives include:
🌍 Inclusivity & Accessibility – I will advocate for beginner-friendly, no-drop rides. Introduce initiatives to enhance equipment access, such as club kit loan schemes or bike maintenance/fitting workshops.
☕ Building a Supportive Community – Introduce relaxed café rides and regular welfare check-ins, while collaborating with the Social Secretary to organize off-the-bike socials (Did I hear someone mention Scala...?)
🚲 Prioritizing Safety – Address road safety concerns and establish an anonymous feedback system, making it easy for members to raise any issues.
If elected, I will ensure no one is left behind—figuratively and literally ;)—and strive to enhance the club experience for all. Vote Grace for Welfare Officer! :D
