Candidates

Charlie Beeston

While I have been studying abroad this year at the National University of Singapore, I am eager and excited to nominate myself for UCL Consulting's Vice President of Events and External Relations

I am passionate about consulting and problem-solving, and I want to use my project management and organisational skills to execute events – most notably UCL’s flagship Case Competition.

This year, I joined Global Research Consulting, a pro bono consulting club in Singapore where I worked on business challenges for local non-profits. I also led a team to crack a case in PwC’s Southeast Asia Case Competition. We came 3rd out of 126 teams; I loved presenting and arguing why our recommendations were the best solutions to the fictional client’s problems.

If elected, I will…

  1. Ensure that events are of the highest quality. I would leverage my consulting experience and strong networking abilities to bring in high profile speakers and organise engaging workshops.
  2. Expand industry connections. While in Singapore I actively engaged with MBB and other top consulting firms, gaining firsthand insights into what they seek in aspiring consultants. I would leverage this experience to forge strategic partnerships in London, bringing exclusive networking opportunities to members.
  3. Strengthen (even more) UCL Consulting’s Reputation. I would continue strengthening UCL Consulting as the go-to society for aspiring consultants.
Kristians Steinbergs

What differentiates me from every candidate for Vice President of Events and Client Relations is my meticulous eye for detail and an unwavering commitment to delivering excellence. I follow the principle that if you do something, you may as well do it well. This is what I guarantee to our members. The main way you will interact with our society is through our events, whether these are skill sessions, networking sessions or fireside talks. With my experience at Kearney and incoming experience at PwC, I have insight and connections that I can leverage to deliver exciting events that will be engaging and useful. A key part of my vision is to introduce more office visit into our event range, as I believe the professional environment is much more conducive to insight into the consulting industry than anything we can deliver at the university.

The marquee event of the consulting society is the Consulting Summit, the largest inter-university case competition in the UK hosted at UCL. My goal is to elevate this flagship event further by ensuring flawless execution, from securing top-tier speakers enhancing networking opportunities with industry leaders and providing new dynamic events. I will prioritize member engagement by incorporating feedback from previous years and throughout my vice-presidentship, ensuring every participant feels valued. We will move the goal posts and succeed in making UCL Consulting Society.

Karis Lai

Hi everyone, I’m Karis, a second-year Medical Innovation and Enterprise student, and I’m excited to run for Vice President for Events and External Relations. Over the past year, I’ve been involved in UCL Consulting Society as the Life Sciences Executive, helping connect students with consulting through events, mentorship, and competitions. This society helped me gain invaluable insights into consulting. Now, I want to create even better opportunities for others.

Why Me?

  • As Life Sciences Executive, I helped match over 100 students in the Case Buddy Program and managed logistics.
  • I  represented UCL in the Inter-University Case Competition, which gave me insight into how we can improve competitions to make them more engaging to attract more participants.
  • My role at UCL MedTech Society has equipped me with large-scale event planning, sponsorship acquisition, and industry networking experience.

My Vision

  • Strengthening partnerships with consulting firms to offer exclusive mentorship and recruitment events
  • A Supportive Community
    - A beginner-friendly program introducing case studies in a structured, accessible way.
    - Enhanced Case Buddy Program with progress check-ins and guided case prep for more meaningful mentorship.
  • Improving Case Competition Experience
    - Written Judge Feedback outlining strengths and areas for improvement after the competition.
    - Live Audience Voting  allowing non-finalists to recognize “Best Speaker” or “Most Creative Idea” for more engagement.
