Cheerleading Club: President

Hi everyone! I'm Ann, your current president, and I'm rerunning to be your president for the 25-26 season! Joining Lightning was truly the best decision I’ve ever made, and really helped me develop my sense of belonging at UCL. As president, my main goal is to create an inclusive, welcoming community that I experienced joining Lightning. 

This season, a few key things I accomplished included:

1. Expanding the club: creating our new team, Flash!
2. Hosting our first-ever joint showcase with KCL and Imperial!
3. Introducing stunt group sessions: training as a stunt group + competing at Nationals! 

However, the greatest reward as president was seeing everyone bring the energy & cheer each other on! 🥹💗

My goals for next year:

• Establishing a more consistent venue for teams to train on cheer mats! Practising regularly on a cheer floor will enable us to be more confident performing on the comp floor! (It will not be super far away, I promise)
• Skill workshops during rec sessions! eg. coached tumble workshops, twist cradle workshops- so we can level up our skills throughout the season in a safe environment!
• Developing our joint uni showcase with KCL and Imperial: It will be bigger and better + include a wider range of London unis!
• Strengthening our club dynamic through inter-team socials!

I am so grateful for the opportunity to lead this club, and I hope to continue to share my love for the club and sport I love so much! As president, I will always be your biggest cheerleader! <3
