Biomedical Sciences Society: Year 2 Representative

I am excited to represent my peers as Year 2 Biomedical Sciences representative, guaranteeing the voice of all members to be heard and acted upon. I believe I am approachable, proactive & committed to making tangible improvement based on student opinion. 

Acting as student prefect formerly, I have developed strong communication skills to gather concerns, present them to the union, and ensure prompt follow-ups. I thrive in collaborative environments where working closely with the union and members drives to bring positive change, shown by my volunteering in various healthcare settings. Moreover, my experience as student prefect and council member has strengthened my communication and problem-solving skills. I learned to advocate for my peers and work with staff to drive positive change; an attribute I wish to exhibit as Year 2 representative. These roles have prepared me to confidently represent my cohort and enhance our academic experience.

Beyond academics, I want to strengthen our sense of community. Whether it's improving resources, organizing events with other members of the committee or simply making sure no student is unheard, I am dedicated to creating a stable and supportive environment.

 I believe a great rep is not just a spokesperson but a problem solver, motivator and a friendly face people can feel free to approach and trust. If given the chance, I will work exceedingly hard to make everyone's year both academically enriching and socially enjoyable!
