I have always had a keen passion for research - I believe it is research which drives the world forward. Having been a Team Leader this year at Bentham Brooks, I have had an incredibly rewarding experience, being able to lead a team of researchers and help them shape their work around our topic of Irish Nationalism, to help them focus on the elements they are most interested in has been incredibly valuable. It also means I have experienced first hand the pressures on team leaders: the stress of deadlines; ensuring all members of the research team happy and enjoying working on the paper and working with the committee to ensure publication is on track. I believe this puts me in the best position to be able to work with future team leads and researchers - I have been in their position!

I am keen to get involved further in Bentham Brooks and to widen the reach of our papers beyond UCL. To look at working with universities and academics across the University of London network as a whole. I would look to implement a larger support network for Team Leaders, to help problem solve across the different topics of research, find out what worked and what didn't for different groups.

I would relish the opportunity to be Head of Research at Bentham Brooks, and believe that I could really help expand our topics of research and the reach of the institute as a whole. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out at sasha.cattle.24@ucl.ac.uk
