Hi everyone! My name is Sheralyn, and I am a first-year Economics student. This year, I had the opportunity to serve as a First-Year Representative at UCLAM. Coming into university with little exposure to finance, I initially found it daunting. However, UCLAM has provided me with an incredible platform to learn and grow, from engaging speaker events to the finance bootcamp. Beyond just technical knowledge, what made a difference was the supportive and welcoming community within the society. Even now, I am still learning, and that is what UCLAM is about, a place where no one needs to have all the answers right away. Whether it was asking committee members for advice or meeting new people at events, someone was always willing to share their knowledge and experiences. This sense of openness and support is what makes UCLAM so special, and as Welfare Officer, I want to ensure that every member feels comfortable reaching out, learning at their own pace, and forming meaningful connections.
If elected, I want to strengthen the sense of community within UCLAM by fostering an inclusive and supportive environment where everyone can learn, connect, and grow together. This society has given me so much in just one year, and I would love the opportunity to give back in a meaningful and enriching way. Thank you for reading!

Whilst striving for excellence is important, true success comes from maintaining balance and well-being. I want to create a culture where mental health is prioritised, ensuring that students feel supported in every aspect of their lives.
My experience as a Student Representative and Vice President of the Medical Innovation and Enterprise (MIE) Events Team has strengthened my ability to advocate for students, understand their concerns, and implement meaningful initiatives. These roles have equipped me with the skills to organise impactful events, facilitate open discussions, and create environments where student voices are heard. With this experience, I am confident in my ability to excel as Welfare Officer and foster a healthier, more supportive student community.
In the welfare role, I will focus on fostering a culture where individuals feel supported in both their careers and personal lives. It’s crucial to ensure that everyone has access to the guidance, resources, and community they need to thrive sustainably and healthily. I am motivated to build an environment where students feel seen, heard, and encouraged, and one that values mental health as much as professional growth.
By combining my leadership experience and a strong commitment to well-being, I will work to ensure that everyone can thrive professionally and personally without compromising their mental health.

As Welfare Officer for the Asset Management Society, I would prioritize the mental and emotional well-being of all members by creating an open and supportive environment. I am dedicated to ensuring that everyone feels heard and valued, offering guidance on managing academic and personal stress while navigating the demands of asset management. My goal is to foster a community where members can thrive both professionally and personally, ensuring resources and support systems are readily available to maintain a healthy balance between work and well-being.
