Hello AI Enthusiast,
My name is Parn, and I am a first-year Computer Science student at UCL. My first year has been truly magical, largely thanks to the AI Society. Coming to university can be overwhelming, but this society provided me with a space where I felt welcomed and connected from day one. Whether it was participating in hackathons, attending insightful panels, or meeting like-minded friends, the AI Society helped me navigate university life and made UCL feel like my second home.
Having experienced firsthand the positive impact the society had on my transition to university, I am eager to give back and create that same sense of belonging for others. As Welfare Officer, my goal would be to ensure that future members—especially those who may feel uncertain or isolated—have the resources and support they need to thrive. From organizing stress-relief activities to offering a listening ear, I want to help build a community where everyone feels valued and supported, just as I did when I first joined.
I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to this incredible community, and I am committed to ensuring that every member of the AI Society feels empowered to succeed.

Hi, I’m Asmita, the current Vice-President of AI Society!
This year, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with every committee member on various initiatives and being a part of such a vibrant community! However, I also know first-hand how challenging it can be to balance academic, social, and society commitments. Through my experience, I’ve identified areas to better support both the committee and our members to create a more inclusive environment. I’m running for welfare officer to ensure that every member, especially those new to the society, feels valued and supported. I want to make it easier for committee members to navigate their roles, while also fostering a space where members feel comfortable reaching out—whether it’s to ask about the society, de-stress, or just have a yap.
I plan to:
- Organise more regular socials with the events team, including collaborations with other societies
- Check in with committee members to ensure their workloads are manageable
- Gather feedback from members to maintain a high standard of inclusivity
Why me?
Having been on the committee for 2 years, I know the society very well and can step in wherever needed. Beyond AI Society, my experience volunteering in care homes and medical wards, as well as participating in public speaking competitions, has helped me develop strong interpersonal and communication skills. I look forward to ensuring all members feel comfortable to learn and contribute to the evolving AI landscape, regardless of their background!

I'm dedicated to supporting members' mental health while we all realise that AI is inevitably taking over our jobs. I'm passionate about creating an inclusive community where everyone feels valued regardless of background or experience level. By organizing wellness activities (bringing back free pizza parties) and establishing clear support systems, I aim to ensure our technical pursuits remain balanced with personal wellbeing.
