Hi, I’m Asmita, the current Vice-President of AI Society!
Having been on the committee for 2 years, I understand what makes our community thrive and have a comprehensive understanding of the society's offerings and operations. This year, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed being a part of such a vibrant community and working with our amazing team to create impactful initiatives, and I’d like to continue this as President.
To keep it short and sweet, here are a few of my action points:
- Growing our community - More socials (with food) and inter-soc collabs, from bigger hackathons to more bowling nights!
- Expanding career opportunities - You liked the office visits and workshops, so let’s host more!
- Improving event quality - More interactive formats like round-table discussions and ethical debates.
- Keeping the best parts - Tutorials, Nexus Labs, the new reading group, and all the initiatives you already enjoy.
- Putting members first - Planning talks and panels based on what you want to see.
Beyond AI Society, I’ve held multiple leadership roles, and I’m confident in my ability to build an inclusive and dynamic community. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, I want everyone to feel empowered to explore AI and contribute to its evolving landscape.
Let’s make AI Society even better, together. Feel free to reach out with any questions at zcabaa4@ucl.ac.uk! I look forward to continuing to shape new (and old) initiatives in this role and contributing meaningfully to the UCL AI community and beyond! :)

Hi everyone!
My name is Charlene, and I am currently a 2nd year in MEng Robotics and AI.
Currently, I am a part of AI Society as the Head of Operations, and I was previously part of Nexus Labs as admin team in first year. As my role evolved, I gained experience in organizing a wide spread of initiatives across the society, including: talks and workshops, external collaborations with other universities, hackathons, Foundry, Nexus Labs, and more. Besides being an admin member, I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a member and what the society brings to students across all departments with various interests in AI, so I am excited to continue facilitating more opportunities for all students to navigate their interests through the society as president.
Whether it is providing more insights on careers, workshops and hackathons to get your hands dirty, or meeting like-minded people across London universities, I hope to lead more events encouraging collaboration between other universities and societies within UCL to introduce a network of bright and passionate people. Of course, not shying away from the current initiatives, I’d like to also build on what has been achieved in past years! There’s more that I’d like to say and do, so vote for me and let’s make it happen!
