I'm standing for Deputy Events Officer because I enjoy bringing people together through art in ways that feel exciting, welcoming, and a little unexpected. In 2023, I organised an independent zine and print fair to spotlight student artists overlooked by the more popular official shows. I transformed a classroom into a pop-up gallery and shop, ran DIY workshops, and secured support from local businesses. Over 150 people attended, and it showed me the impact creative, well-run events can have.

Since coming to UCL, I’ve interned with a curator focused on emerging artists and cross-cultural collections, where I learnt to communicate across teams, stay calm under pressure, and problem-solve quickly. I also saw how the best events make people feel involved, not just present.

I want to support and expand what the Art Business Society already does so well by introducing new formats like mock auctions, skill workshops (such as how to fill out condition reports), or collaborative exhibition-building. I’m full of ideas and more than willing to do the hands-on work to bring them to life.

I am passionate about enhancing accessibility within the art sector and am eager to use this role to foster a welcoming environment where students, regardless of their level of experience or understanding of the art world, feel included and empowered to fully engage with everything the society has to offer. As a commuting student, I understand the importance of society events in enriching the university experience and believe they play a crucial role in helping students build connections. I am also enthusiastic about collaborating with students to create fresh and engaging events that not only benefit students academically, but also contribute to their career development. I would love to continue expanding the Art Business Society to encompass a broad range of interests, from art history to business contexts, and providing opportunities for students to explore these fields in depth. From gallery talks and museum tours to more casual social events like pub nights and quizzes, I am committed to organising events that will foster a strong sense of community within the society, creating opportunities for students to connect, learn, and grow together.
