Anoop Kalsi

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh. My name is Anoop Singh, and I am a first year in Chemical Engineering. I am deeply passionate about Sikhi, and I am eager to inspire more individuals to connect with their Guru next year as President of the Sikh Society.

Navigating university life while staying true to one's Sikh values can indeed be challenging, but I have found that Sikh Society has been a great way to find sangat this year. As President, I am committed to ensuring that our society remains a welcoming and inclusive space for all, where members can freely connect with fellow sangat, engage in seva and deepen their understanding of Sikhi. I will prioritise creating a non-judgmental environment where everyone feels valued and respected.

In addition to our regular events, I plan to organise activities focused around reading Gurbani, such as monthly or weekly amritvela sessions and a Japji Sahib Jaap, tailored to the preferences of our members. I aim to introduce more social events to our calendar, including movie nights, golf, and other recreational activities to strengthen the sense of community among our members.

As someone who has served as a First-Year Representative this year, I have gained valuable experience in assisting with event setup and leading Rehras Sahib sessions. These experiences have helped me develop confidence and leadership skills that I will continue to utilise in my role as President.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.
