Shourya Shrivastava

Greetings everyone! I'm Shourya, your friendly neighborhood astrophysicist, and I'm thrilled to throw my hat in the ring for the role of Chief Editor at SciMag. With a deep passion for science communication and editorial work, I'm confident I can significantly contribute to the magazine's success.

My journey with Science Magazine began last year, initially focused solely on physics. However, as I explored its diverse issues, I ventured out of my (Faraday) cage, appreciating the magazine's commitment to scientific diversity
My foray into science communication started with creating an astrophysics podcast, reaching thousands of listeners worldwide. Running a science blog alongside the podcast, technical editing has become second nature to me.

Contributing to prominent physics and space science journals honed my eye for detail. Serving as President and Treasurer of the Space Society, I fostered community and organized successful events, marking the society's most successful year.
My editorial journey, from journalism to magazine publishing, has equipped me with a knack for crafting compelling scientific stories. As Chief Editor, I aim to bring diverse and engaging science content, balancing technicality with accessibility.

I'm deeply committed to advancing science communication and fostering understanding across all scientific disciplines, and I can't think of a better place for this at UCL than the Science Magazine.
