School of Slavonic and Eastern European Studies Society (SSEES): Communications Manager

My name is Kasia Kramer, and I'm a First-year Politics, Sociology and Eastern European studies student. I'm anxious to contribute to the Community I love, so I'm standing to be your Communications Manager for the 2024/5 academic year! 

As a, let's be honest, easily confused person, I completely understand the importance of concise, clear communication. My aim is to enable SSEES communications to reach all members of our diverse community. I can promise you prompt, productive and perceptive communications, varying from Global events to departmental news.

I'm conscious of the fact that Communication goes both ways. Given my three years of experience as Co-Chair of a Grassroots Climate Change advocacy group, I'm well aware of the importance of 'enfranchising' as many voices within a group. Moreover, this position enabled me to develop proficiency for  effective communications, liasing with individuals from MPs to Journalists, Pressure groups to Head-teachers.

As a SSEES Committee member I will:

• Communicate departmental and global information effectively via Social Media, or otherwise
• Enable accountable conversation between Society members and the Committee
• Enhance diversity of voices and backgrounds within SSEES communications
