SSEES Society is a departmental society affiliated with UCL's School of Slavonic and East European Studies (SSEES). UCL SSEES is one of the world's biggest research centres focusing on the Eastern European and Eurasian regions. Our aim is to build a strong community for individuals from the region as well as those interested in it. We host a diverse range of events, including academic talks and panels on topics such as politics, culture, and society, as well as career-focused events and social gatherings!
What we do:
- Exclusive career networking events with special high-profile guests from the East European area and beyond
- Roundtable debates and analyses on topics such as the war in Ukraine, the mysterious deaths and disappearances of Putin’s political opponents, or the impact of the US election on the region.
- Community building by frequent socials ranging from game nights, pub quizzes, pizza nights, and more! A way for students to relax and destress!
