Mathu Ratnakumar

Hi, I’m Mathu and I’m nominating myself to be the Careers and Sponsorship Officer next year.

I aim to improve career opportunities for students by promoting PhySoc to top recruiters, helping students build professional networks and gain insights into competitive internship opportunities. I communicate well with external company representatives using platforms such as Linkedln to organise events such as career talks and alumni networking.

As a collaborative and highly-motivated individual, I will bring a positive contribution to the team with lots of new ideas.

For the upcoming year, I would like to establish professional development sessions tailored specifically to Physics students, for example, useful CV building sessions targeted at the industries we apply for and organise more frequent industry visits and interactive workshops.

In terms of sponsorship, I will be reaching out to companies that have previously sponsored similar societies and enter into negotiations which will help generate considerable funds for PhySoc to run bigger and better events.

Vote for me if you want more careers events with top employers and access to more academic opportunities to boost your CV and make next year’s PhySoc even more successful.
