Yoan Nikolov

Hi, my name is Yoan Nikolov, 2nd year Philosophy student. It has been an absolutely wonderful experience being part of the Muay Thai community at UCL. From Mario kart tourney to salsa, I've loved bringing the members in our club closer together.

Plus, spreading the word about our club's activities has been a blast, and seeing more people pumped about joining us in the ring and in training has been incredibly rewarding. I hope I can get to do it all over again :)

Dianne Necesito

I want to take this opportunity to make more friends within Muay Thai! I'd love to organise a range of events that will reinforce the warm family atmosphere this society gives. I believe my outgoing personality will help me out in this position to ensure everyone continues to feel included in these events!

Josemi Sorando Campillo

For those of you who might not know yet, there's nothing like training and sparring with someone and then going out and having a good time next to that same person again. That's one of the reasons why I love being in this society, or should I say, family. I know it sounds very corny but it is true, and I would not have gotten the chance to meet so many amazing people if it wasn't for the social events I've attended. I would feel very selfish if I kept that to myself, that's why I am running for this position, so the Muay Thai family keeps growing and we can all laugh, cry, sweat, and have a good time together, in some of the epic and legendary social events that I would like to bring to this society.

I would also like to leave a quote that reminds me of my experience and the people at UCL MT:

"I wish there was a way to know you're in the good old days before you’ve actually left them."

Grace Yeung

Hi guys! I'm Grace, a first year English student. I joined Muay Thai at the beginning of the year after loving the friendly vibes I got from the Freshers Fair stall (shoutout to Ameera <3). Needless to say, I fell in love with the sport and have been hooked ever since. I particularly enjoyed University Fight Night and King of the Ring - seeing the team spirit from UCL was amazing and I can't wait to experience it all again over the next two years.

As social sec, my goal would be to uphold and maintain the warm environment we have in MT right now, and to encourage more newcomers to join our club. I'd love to organise events suited towards both newcomers and existing members, and definitely make newcomers feel at ease and comfortable. I've loved the social events we've had so far and have ideas for even more in the future, so it would be great to have your vote!

Viduna Diyasena

Hi everyone! I'm Viduna and I'll be running for social sec.

Why vote me for social sec?

I’ll keep it short and simple. I’m a hyper-energetic, super social big mouth and I’m extremely comfortable in pretty much any social situation. And best believe I’ll always show up when you need me and the proof is in the history. UCL Fight Night? I was there. Kings of the Ring? You know I was there! And Varsity? BEST BELIEVE I will be there, annihilating my vocal cords for UCLMT because the crew always comes before vocal health. Who wouldn’t want dedication like that? Vote me and everyone you could think of in and out of UCL will know about UCLMT, from students across all years to random mums on the street; I’m an absolute sell out for things I believe in and there’s no society I believe in more than UCLMT. But most importantly, I will ensure that we have consistently fun socials where everyone feels welcome, from the shyest to the loudest person at UCLMT, carrying on from the bangers Janelle and Yoan put out last semester.

But enough of me talking about what I will do. See it for yourself and let me cook as your next social sec.
