Aurora-Evangeline Kadir

Hi! My name is Aurora. The reason I am standing for Welfare officer is because I know how stressful being a creative can be. There is so much external and internal pressure to be on your A-game in the fashion world.
So I aim to create a safe space where we can all collectively let our hair down. Whether it’s modo related or not, as Welfare officer I’d host relaxing and comfy (but still fashion-related) drop-ins. I believe everyone deserves a community they can fall back on. I will aim to host positive, fun activities so we can all take mid-term breathers with fellow modo members!

Rebecca Cornthwaite

Hi, my names Becca and I've been a part of the MODO society since starting UCL in 2022.

After acting as marketing executive in my first year, and filling in the interim head of marketing position during term one of this year, I believe I am well- informed and suited for the job of welfare sec, with my knowledge of how MODO functions. As well as previous experience within our committee, I have participated in several mental health training sessions, such as the Ten Tools by Olly's future.

MODO has always been a large and diverse community at UCL, providing many people with opportunities to grow their careers, expand their skill sets, and most importantly, be a part of an ever-changing, friendly environment. The welfare of our community is therefore of utmost importance. I am a good listener, honest, friendly and genuinely care about the MODO community, as it has made me feel so welcome over the past two years.

If I get voted to become the welfare secretary, I aim to push for more wholesome, creative events for people to meet one another, advocating for the spaces and opportunities to grow closer as a community.

Songju Kang

Hi everyone!

MODO has been such an integral part of my uni life these last 3 years. It has given me so many opportunities like photography and modelling and most importantly getting to meet and collaborate with so many (insanely) talented people. Because of this, I’d love the opportunity and responsibility of ensuring that MODO remains this fun, non-judgemental, and inclusive space for EVERYONE and that it can become or remain a safe place for you.

I can promise that I’ll do my best to ensure that our welfare is at the forefront of anything we do at this society. One small way I would do this is by establishing more effective ways of both collecting and actively addressing feedback, suggestions and concerns perhaps via anonymised forms.

In terms of why I think I’m somewhat “qualified” to do the role, having been a proactive member for the last 3 years and having also been on committee as Head of Photography previously I think I have a (relatively) good idea of how things generally run and what has/hasn’t worked in the past. I also have pretty fast reply times (yes I have too much time) and I’m also really open to and encourage change, suggestions and new ideas.

Basically this was all a very long-winded way of saying please vote for me as your welfare officer! Thank you :)
