Ellson Lin

As a first year looking for new friends, who found university a bit daunting I find somewhere I  feel I belong ever since joining the society. This society has helped boost my confidence and increased my fitness level, which was kind of poor before, therefore, I wish to run to help support the society to allow it to thrive. Previous experience I had before applying to Gen Soc was being the kit officer of the society, where I managed the kit to ensure that it was in top conditions, and buying the Akuma kit for people wanting customised kit.

Peniel Chew

I have been part of UCL MMA for 2 years (currently into the 3rd year). Many of you will know that I enjoy this sport and the people in this club (I've probably sparred with everyone before at least once). I think that I would now be capable of helping to run this club. I have been part of MMA committee already as social secretary this past year and gotten to make fun experiences with members of this club, whether it was collabs with other societies, or fun socials.

If elected, I hope to be able to continue assist the president in promoting this club, and introducing the vastly growing numbers of  people looking to try MMA, many for the first time.

While I may be new to a position such as this, I hope to be able to take my experience from other positions to:

1. Further increase the popularity of the sport, and of this club.

2. Make this club beginner-friendly without compromising on the training for our more advanced members.

3. Communicate further with other martial arts clubs to offer a more varied experience, as well as potentially better training.

4. Attempt to host our own fight event so we can bring more home supporters.
