Anas Idris

Hello!

My name is Anas and I’m a 5th year medical student. Having studied an intercalated degree in mathematics and computer science, I got the opportunity to learn, design and create new technologies that can be used to innovate healthcare, and potentially better patients' lives.

Experiencing firsthand how AI diagnostic imaging is being used in hospitals during my medical placement has been incredibly exciting. I'm eager to be part of a team where we can continue to learn about new innovations and get more involved.

I also have the experience of being a Founder & Treasurer of UCL's Sudanese society, so I have familiarity on how to be a part of a committee for a society. Collaboration and empowerment are very important aspects of a society for me, and I would further love to help shed light to the diverse and inclusive medical technology landscape.

This year, I'm looking forward to immersing myself in the field of Medtech and would be very thankful for your vote!

Madina Amiraslanova

I’m fascinated by the cutting-edge developments in the Med Tech field and the meaningful impact they bring to patients! As someone who loves attending conferences in the healthcare and biomedical research fields, I’m particularly excited for this opportunity to contribute to providing an effective environment for students to share their ideas, connect with and learn from experts in the field and like-minded individuals, as well as ask their most burning questions!

As the Founder and Chair of the Science and Discussion Society in my sixth, I have gained invaluable insight into holding society meetings and organizing effective discussion sessions for students. I have also been the first-year representative of the UCL Science Magazine, which has allowed to develop the skills required for and contribute to arranging exciting, thought-provoking academic talks and workshops for students. As a cancer biomedicine student, I’m also keen to invite researchers from the Cancer Institute to share some of their exciting contributions to the field.

I hope to use these experiences and the skills I have developed through them to contribute to this amazing initiative that provides students with meaningful opportunities and fascinating insight into the field. I hope to contribute to making this conference a truly exciting occasion and hope that students leave it inspired about the future of healthcare technology, its truly meaningful impact, and their place in it!

Shreya Kantamneni

Hi, I’m Shreya :)

I am a 1st year medical student and I am running for the role of Technology in Healthcare executive for UCL MedTech Society.

I wholeheartedly believe that UCL MedTech Society is truly an incredible platform that allows all UCL students to explore the exciting future of technology and AI being used in healthcare  into greater depth and participate in a wide variety of exciting opportunities.

As Technology in Healthcare executive for UCL MedTech society, I am looking forward to promoting all the amazing events and activities organised by UCL MedTech society. I also envision more opportunities for UCL students to engage in AI and technology in healthcare skills workshops. Currently, I am doing my student selected component in AI in healthcare - this is something that I have been really enjoying and looking forward to learning more about in the future.

In terms of my personal qualities, I am an extremely friendly and caring person. I always like to make people smile and helping others I truly the positive energy that I thrive on. As Technology in Healthcare executive,I am excited to collaborate with everyone in this wonderful society and raise awareness about all the events that are planned during the year (as well highlighting opportunities from external organisations, such as competitions and conferences).

Thank you

Maame Prakah-Asante

With the world becoming more digital, the capability of technology is becoming extremely promising, especially in healthcare. This is what interested me in this role, particularly after attending this year's conference.

I believe my experience working in an optometry clinic, where I interacted with healthcare professionals, will help in contacting professionals for the conference. Additionally, working as an assistant at a charity shop, where I had to collaborate with colleagues for numerous reasons (e.g., deciding the price of donations), would contribute to ticket pricing and other key aspects of organising a conference. Recently, alongside my team, we mocked up a startup that used synthetic biology and technology to help tackle global health issues in healthcare. It was challenging yet rewarding, and I believe it helped improve my problem-solving skills which would be useful in addressing issues related to the conference. Besides professional experience, even in my everyday life, I am quite organised. You'll never catch me without a Notion calendar or a to-do list!

From the mentorship program to the recent healthcare conference, I have attended multiple MedTech events this year. Each event provided me with valuable insights and helped bring me one step closer to figuring out what I want to do. I would love to give back and be on the committee for the society that has personally helped me so much. I am committed to using my experiences and skills to help keep MedTech great!

Lou Genoud

I am putting myself forward because next academic year, I will be diving into my third year as a Medical Sciences and Engineering student, specialising in Healthcare Technology. I developed a strong interest for AI and robotics in healthcare, and I am itching to get involved in this society as it has been such a great platform for personal and intellectual development over the past 2 years. My time as an event officer in the Division of Surgery and Interventional Sciences has fine-tuned my organisational skills, which I'm excited to bring to the table here.

Emilie Sophie Gross

My interest in running for the Technology in Healthcare Executive position stems from my international background and unwavering commitment to healthcare innovation. Having resided in global cities such as New York City, Paris, Luxembourg, and Zurich, I have acquired exceptional communication skills. This is further strengthened in my fluency in four languages—English, French, German, and Swiss-German. Currently, pursuing a medical-related degree, namely Medical Innovation and Enterprise, my academic journey reflects a profound passion for the field. My involvement in leading initiatives, including charities and campaigns (as detailed in my attached CV), has honed my leadership and organizational skills. These experiences have equipped me with the ability to drive meaningful change and contribute to the advancement of healthcare technologies. Having had the privilege of attending this year's Technology in Healthcare Conference, I was inspired by the insightful discussions and innovative approaches presented. I am eager to take on a more active role in shaping next year's conference, leveraging my skills and experiences to contribute to its success. My international background, coupled with my commitment to healthcare and prior leadership roles, uniquely qualifies me for the Technology in Healthcare Executive position.
