Knitting Society: Treasurer

I possess plenty of experience and skills that make me the ideal fit for this role. I had a whole year of experience as a finance team leader in a society back in my high school where I calculated and managed budgets for events, ensuring that every dollar was allocated efficiently and effectively. Additionally, writing finance proposals demonstrates my strong communication skills, which will be essential for filling out forms to authorize spending with the Student Union and collaborating with other committee members. 

Moreover, working as a club founder and co-leader previously allowed me to gain essential skills for being a Treasurer. Collaborating with other club leaders, teachers, and student members, I was able to plan and execute fundraising events and eventually exceed our fundraising goals. Also, I was detail-oriented and created Excel sheets that enabled the earnings from the fundraising events to be transparent and error-free. This has equipped me with the teamwork and organizational skills necessary to work with the equipment officer in the Knitting Society to organize yarn orders. Needless to mention I am currently doing a STEM major which proves that I have sufficient mathematical skills for budgeting. 

I am determined to serve our society with integrity and diligence. I am very excited to work with the other members of the Leadership Committee to enable every member to have a wonderful experience with the Knitting Society!

Hello! I'm Heer, a 3rd year Natural Sciences student and I'm running to become your next KnitSoc treasurer! You might recognise me as the current Social Media Officer; I'd love to carry on to give back to the wonderful KnitSoc community next year, but this time as treasurer.

Having also served as the President of the Natural Sciences Society this past year, I'm all too familiar with the ins and outs of the duties that the treasurer would undertake. I navigated all the necessary admin and was jointly responsible for the society's finances. Successfully orchestrating the STEM Ball was a highlight, showcasing my talents for handling budgets and spreadsheets (classic STEM student skills).

Being in the loop about how KnitSoc usually organises the finances for stash orders and socials, I'm confident that I'm the purlfect fit for the role! P.S. Vote for Nuha for President! :)
