Charissa Monney

Ice Club has been so much fun this year, but let’s be real - it’s been a massive pain in the a** budgetwise.

Ice sports are notorious for their high costs - both expected and unexpected. Paying lots of money for kit upfront, having to buy expensive train tickets to compete, and let’s not even talk about the cost of new kit - unless you’re happy with the mouldy kit in the storeroom…

I’m sure many of us have had to reconsider attending events, purely because we couldn’t afford it. But this could change next academic year.

As treasurer, I would be thoroughly invested in the financial welfare of the ice club. As a former house prefect, I have experience with budgeting and financial strategy and would be highly qualified for this position. There are two areas that would need to be addressed:

- Better funding

I would implement a stronger financial system to get the club into a better position for future years. I would develop better and easier payment systems, such as taking online payments to ensure we can continue with financial stability. I would also consider alternative ways of funding ice club, such as fundraisers and sponsors.

- Subsidised costs

I would aim to liaise with the student union and utilise the sports bursary available to fund game aspects, such as transportation. I would also aim to invest more in kit for both ice hockey and figure  - to ensure there is no need to spend £100s upfront.

To keep Ice Club fun and friendly on your wallet, vote for Charissa!

Ooj Amit Srivastava

good with money. know where it should go. need this to do ice club more frequently. will try to sponser gear (?)

Abdullah Mohammad

im an engineer im good at maths. I love money. I can use excel without a mouse. Freak in the excel sheets. Under my watch the balance sheet will always balance. I also have a plug for cheap hockey kit.

James Newbold-Comyns

Hi, I'm James, I am a first year student and part of C team.

I have been part of the club since joining UCL and have really enjoyed being part of the club this year.

I have lots of good friends in the club, and have experience being on the committee of another society this year, and so I believe that I can work well with the rest of the new committee.

I aim to ensure that everyone from each part of the club gets the best value out of what they pay, and that the club can continue to be able to provide the same activities for everyone to enjoy this coming year and in future years.
