As a Guild Academy Executive, I'm excited to pursue the role of VP of Guild Academy. My experience organizing groundbreaking events and supporting various initiatives this year directly aligns with the responsibilities of this position. Notably, I spearheaded the society's first speed networking event connecting students with professionals from top firms like Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan and Accenture, showcasing my event planning and leadership abilities. Additionally, I facilitated a finance panel with through securing a Barclays managing director to come, providing valuable insights to our members. This hands-on involvement has deepened my understanding of our community's needs and the operations of Guild Academy. Furthermore, my role as treasurer at 180 Degrees Consulting has honed my financial management skills, complementing my event coordination experience. If elected, I'm committed to leveraging this comprehensive skill set to empower students and enhance access to premier career opportunities, while also bringing my perspective as an incoming Barclays Investment Banking Intern.

James Mao

Last year I helped to organise and lead two events with the highest turn out rate, which is DCF workshop along with MCD Capital and Woman in Finance Panel with MDs from SocGen and Blackrock. I am eager to dedicate myself to developing even more impactful content and events in the coming year.

My ambition is to expand our offerings to include more technical workshops and in-depth, interactive panels with correct questions asked. Hope Guild Academy could empower our community members to confidently navigate their career paths, armed with knowledge and insight.

Callie Hou

Dear Members,

I am excited to run for the position of Vice President of Guild Academy 2024-2025! As a first-year executive at the Guild Society, the inspiration I felt for organising Guild events made me realise how I wanted to help this society grow further. From coordinating guest speakers for our annual Guild Careers Fair and technical workshops to organising speed networking events, panel discussions and Entrepreneurship 101 sessions, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of our society in shaping the career opportunities of students, particularly those, like myself, hailing from design and management backgrounds.

My leadership journey and active involvement in campus activities have equipped me with a diverse skill set and a deep understanding of organizational dynamics. Some highlights of my experiences include:

  • Shadowing the current Vice President of Guild Academy and participating in the facilitation of Guild events and speaker invitation
  • Engaging in mentorship programmes within the Investment Society, Women in Finance Society, and ESG Society, while serving as a First-Year Representative in the Women in Finance student committee with potential cooperation in the next academic year
  • Standing as the Business Society president in High school and Co-President of the National Economic Challenge (East Asia region), overseeing a significant annual participation of 20,000 students and spearheading various events, case competitions, and workshops both online and in-person
  • Leading different case/design
