Evelyn Kwan

Hi Everyone,

I'm Evelyn, an incoming second-year Management Science student. I believe I would be a good candidate as the treasurer of Guild because of my previous experience of managing finances at a STEM society. I led the team in applying for funding, receiving sponsorship from companies and raising £2,000+. I am a goal-oriented person and worked on budgeting and keeping track of finances on material spending. I am easy to communicate with, adaptable, and always open to listening to ideas.

I hope to be part of the Guild team in the next academic year to facilitate events, sponsorships and mentorship programmes as best as possible - providing incoming students with a good exposure towards business, finance, technology and investment events!

Thanks for reading this and I would really appreciate the opportunity to be on the team :)

Anant Lal

Dear UCL Guild Members,

My name is Anant Lal, and I am currently a First-Year Executive at UCL Guild, where I have had the privilege of contributing to the successful organisation of career events within Guild Academy. My experiences at Guild have enriched my understanding of our community's needs and motivated me to ensure Guild's growth and financial health. With this dedication, I am running for the position of Treasurer.

My experience as an FYE has given me valuable insights into event planning and budget management. I am eager to apply these skills as Treasurer. I have direct experience in event organisations and aim to implement precise budgeting practices that balance cost efficiency with maintaining high-quality and impactful events. My goal is to maximise every penny to benefit our members.

My experience at Guild has shown me the potential for innovative funding strategies. I plan to explore new sponsorship opportunities, alumni engagement, and fundraising activities that align with and support our long-term vision.

Your support will enable me to contribute more significantly to UCL Guild, ensuring we have the resources to support our members' ambitions and continue offering impactful, enriching experiences and events.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sabrina Song

Hi everyone! I’m Sabrina, a first year BSc Statistics, Economics and Finance student, running to be the Treasure for UCL Guild next year.

As my High School Student Council’s Vice President, head of various service committees, and most importantly, a proud and passionate member of Guild, I believe I can thrive in this role. My experiences include working closely with treasures to oversee financial matters, being proficient in Excel, completing courses in finance, and striving for leadership positions in other UCL societies. I am confident in drawing relevant skills from my experiences to strengthen Guild’s financial backbone.

As Treasure, I will act to enforce the following agenda:

  • Consolidate funds and aim towards a balanced budget through promoting responsible spending and seeking for additional funding through sponsorships.
  • Foster a stronger bond between our associated societies to streamline communication on financial matters and maximise the society’s efficiency in financial resource allocation, and to broaden Guild’s membership base in order to introduce new cash flow.
  • Enhance member experience through appropriate budgeting and maintaining Guild’s financial health so that we are able to present more, high quality events to provide you with a truly immersive experience.

By voting for me, I will manage our financial resources with your interests in mind and help maintain Guild as UCL’s leading career’s society to better support your professional endeavours.

Ina Zhang

With a solid foundation in finance and a strong passion for encouraging students to join this dynamic sector, I want to maintain the financial health of our society and foster a diverse culture that develops professional skills and supports each member's ambitions.

My academic journey in economics and accounting, supplemented by extensive experiences in managing financial affairs in societies, has equipped me with a deep understanding of budget planning, managing cash flows and liquidity, and raising money. I am the founder of an organization, Gorilla Star, aiming to provide services to children in need. I recruited 200+ members and raised £2,000+ through online promotion and merchandise fundraising in order to hold more events, which allowed me to gain many competencies necessary for a treasurer.

As Treasurer, I have multifaceted objectives. Firstly, I would ensure to grow our fund through prudent financial management and fundraising tactics, enabling us to hold additional workshops, networking events, and mentoring programs. In the new academic year, I also want to improve members' skills in finance and investment by holding simulation training and case challenges. Moreover, fostering strong relationships with sponsors and financial institutions will be a priority as it is crucial to expand our resources and opportunities. Above all, transparency and integrity will be the foundations of my tenure, and I commit to managing our society's finances with complete openness.
