Irakli Imnaishvili

Mogesalmebit! I am Irakli, a 1st year BSc Economics student. Being my birthplace, I spent most of my childhood in Georgia. I moved to Oxford aged 8, where I subsequently finished my primary and secondary education.

Throughout my years in the UK, I strived for persistent academic excellence, while never neglecting the vitality of friendship and dignity. These traits underpin who I am today and will continue to define who I become in the future. Yet, they originated more than a decade ago from the combined teachings of a Georgian family and a Georgian school. Our culture is unique in that respect. It entrenches so firmly within our personalities early on, that its core principles end up guiding us for the rest of our lives.

I have always aimed to meet as many Georgians as possible as well as enabling non-Georgians to gain a glimpse of our unique culture. I profoundly think that there is no better way of doing this at UCL than actively contributing in the Georgian Society. My experience within banking and finance, coupled with my love for Economics sparked my interest for applying to the role of treasurer. Through effective planning and budgeting for events and rising awareness of the soc within the economics department, I profoundly believe that we will succeed in attracting members from all backgrounds, as well as connecting all Georgians at UCL.

I appreciate your support massively!
