Francophone Society: President

Hello everyone! My name is Aloïs Mottard, and I am running for the presidency, with Sofia aiming for treasurer. Some may know me as the captain of the francophone football team. Over the past two years, I have realised the immense potential that this society had but could not turn into big achievements.

Our mission is clear: to immerse French-speaking individuals in extraordinary events, by sticking to the following objectives:

• Foster Ideas and Culture, by organizing conferences with people from different backgrounds (political and business leaders, athletes, artists, celebrities)
• Teach French, through weekly classes
• Organize Pub and Nightclubs events
• Help with student orientation, by inviting university and company representatives to networking events.
• Keep growing our football team, and potentially opening teams in other sports.

We aim to collaborate with other UCL societies, as well as KCL and LSE French Soc and to maintain open communication with you (through IG polls) to be more responsive to your demands.

I am confident in my leadership skills and ability to get things done. Building the francophone football team and co-founding the UCL Padel Club, where I currently serve as president, has allowed me to understand how the SU works, which is crucial for the position I am seeking.

So if you’re up for an exciting mix of events, parties, and sports, vote for me !! (and Sofia as treasurer!) 

I am standing to improve the society. We deserve to build and foster a more robust community between francophones and other institutions, universities and communities. We need to be proud to speak French and be part of Francophone society by creating sports teams in different sports, not only football. We need to put our community at the centre of UCL, and I will do that. 

We need to be together and support our culture on every occasion and come together to do so. We must build links for when we leave University and be there for each other. I will achieve this daily by organizing events whenever possible and on every occasion. 

We have so many talents within our community and need a place to bring the collective to a strong unit. By electing me, you are not only voting for someone; you are voting for your best interest.
