I am very committed to FinTech Society’s events and want my contributions to make our community stronger! As a female mathematician heading into fintech, I want our society to bring in more solid support in our careers, more insightful talks and discussions, more opportunities around the world, and closer collaboration among us!

If you have any ideas or expectations on FinTech Society, let me know and our team will let it happen! In my 1 year of membership here, I saw our strengths in helping proactive students like us in pursuing our dream careers and knowledge in fintech. I have more than 5 years of society leadership experiences, specialising in marketing. I will collaborate closely with other committee members and listen carefully to each of our member’s voices, supporting high-quality careers events that bring together students, top employers, and industrial professionals, fostering a greater fintech community for everyone!

Abby Wincey

Hi everyone!

I developed an interest in FinTech after attending an event with panel speakers talking about their respective start-ups; their entrepreneurship and innovative-thinking when adopting new technologies inspired me to join FinTech Society as a Marketing Executive this past year. I have thus far enjoyed promoting events in a creative way that has encouraged students across varying degree backgrounds to attend, through Instagram and LinkedIn posts.

I have learnt a lot through this experience under the guidance of VPs, and have therefore developed time management, creative thinking and interpersonal skills. I enjoyed collaborating with the other committee members, who are also passionate about the ever-changing dynamic of the FinTech industry, and as such have developed strong communication skills. Developing technical skills in design software, such as Canva and Adobe Indesign, has also allowed me to create innovative designs that aesthetically communicate information to readers; as such, I hope to continue promoting the exciting events that Fintech has to offer.

As a Marketing VP, I aspire to enhance the impact of Fintech Society by encouraging students from other degree backgrounds to attend events and gain exposure to this industry. An idea to inspire this is to create weekly, eye-catching Instagram post/stories that briefly summarises a piece of news related to Fintech, with any recent transformations that have happened in the industry.

Thank you for reading :)
