I am running for this role because I feel my strong communication skills and personable nature would be a good fit for engaging with and hosting potential speakers. I have extensive work experience in a corporate work environment so I know the correct etiquette when speaking to a senior individual.

I am reliable and dedicated to my tasks and would endeavour to attract speakers who can provide a lot of value to our society. I would also encourage feedback from members of the audience in order to refine the delivery of our sessions and streamline the way in which we present information in order to make it as engaging as possible.

Finally, I would be grateful for the chance to serve the Fintech Society community, whose events I have truly found invaluable in my first year of university. I look forward to helping to elevate our society’s impact even further!

Zain Syed

I am standing for the role of Vice President of Client Relations for FinTech Society because of my involvement and experience within the organisation over the last two years. Having served as the first-year representative and subsequently as an executive, I have gained comprehensive insight into the operations of the Client Relations division. Stepping into the role of Vice President feels like a natural progression to leverage my knowledge and skills further, and I strongly believe that I have sufficient experience within the society in order to do so. Working closely with past Vice Presidents has provided me with a clear understanding of the responsibilities and strategies required for effective leadership in this position. I am committed to driving positive change within the society, particularly within the Client Relations division, by forming strategic partnerships and securing sponsorships from businesses in the FinTech industry. My aim is to contribute to the continued success and growth of the society by forming, cultivating and strengthening the client relations of the society.

Kian Khan

Having immensely enjoyed my role as Client Relations Executive, the prospect of being Vice President for the FinTech society excites me greatly. Through this role, I have built up a strong rapport with founders of exciting start ups, such as Greenpixie and Pluto Invest.

As Vice President, I hope to build on these relationships further and incorporate their work in our society's events, making it a hub for internship opportunities in the FinTech space. With exclusive events and panel talks lined up, I am confident these partnerships could jumpstart careers in FinTech for our membership base.

Not only do I want our members to have access to these exciting opportunities but also, I plan on providing our members with resources to learn more about FinTech. For example, the introduction of mentorship schemes and seminar-style workshops, led by professionals from the FinTech sector.

Through these events, members will be able to pick up insider knowledge about FinTech specific issues and network with highly qualified leaders in the sector. With FinTech being seen as quite a technical and complex sector, a lack of insider knowledge can often act as a barrier to entry. Through providing our members with the relevant knowledge and industry-specific expertise, I hope to make these opportunities accessible to all of our talented and highly motivated members.

I look forward to the opportunity of building on our society's success this year and serving as Vice President.
