Hey guys! I’m Erica, a 2nd year pharmacy student. As a bubbly and friendly member for the past 2 years, I can sincerely express that joining UCL Filsoc has been one of the best decisions that I’ve made, and am passionate about giving back, making it just as enjoyable for you too! (Fun fact: met my current flatmates through Filsoc hehe)
If given the opportunity to be President, some of my ideas include:
- Promoting a culture that embraces inclusivity, supporting integration among all members.
- Coordinating cultural-focused events offered from Filipino movie nights, karaoke, game nights, and boat parties to introducing new events ranging from intersociety/uni sports and boodle fights (I <3 food)
- Strengthen new connections built for collabs and partnerships to take place, ensuring the society operates within its Filipino constitution regulations.
With my confident background and involvement in organising events (previously being Head Girl to a current UCL Student Ambassador), I understand the responsibility this role brings and so I assure you can put your trust in me to create amazing experiences for the upcoming year. Most importantly, it is the members that make up the society, so my main aim is to ensure that every individual feels welcomed, addressing all concerns, and can freely celebrate the culture we all love. I may be small, but together, we can do it all :)
vote erica for pres!!! vote angelo for social sec!!! vote julianah for treasurer!!!

Hey everyone! My name is Tomas, a first-year International Social and Political Studies (ISPS) student. It has been a pleasure to have experienced such a genuine and fun community over the past few months. Such experiences have inspired me to contribute more to our Filipino Society, as I believe that we should continue to have such moments throughout our time at UCL.
As your future Filipino Society President, I insist on continuing my predecessor’s efforts in fostering a sense of community and upholding the standard that Sam and the other committee members have portrayed.
Furthermore, I intend to explore new ideas that will enhance our experience at the Society. Some initiatives include:
- Promoting culturally-focused activities, including such based on (i) the different Philippine regions that we represent and (ii) broader national cultural activities to foster a sense of pride and camaraderie.
- Implement an efficient system for suggestions, queries, and advice to improve your experience at FilSoc and UCL.
- Promote more inter-university Filipino Society activities, such as club nights and sports tournaments.
I am confident in my ability to commit to this important position, as shown through experience from my leadership positions at several Filipino-based NGO’s and as a UCL Student Mentor and Ambassador for UCL Foundation Year students. My experience at UCL's Filipino Society has been incredible so far, and I am determined for such to be the same for all of you!
