Sabrina Song

Hi everyone! I’m Sabrina, a first year BSc Statistics, Economics and Finance student, running to be the Treasure for EFS next year.

As my High School Student Council’s Vice President, head of various service committees, and most importantly, a passionate member of EFS and regular attendee of our events, I believe I can thrive in this role. My experiences include working closely with treasures to oversee financial matters, being proficient in Excel, and striving for leadership positions in other UCL societies. I am confident in my ability to strengthen EFS’s financial backbone.

As Treasure, I will act to enforce the following agenda:

  • Consolidate funds and aim for a balanced budget by promoting responsible spending and seeking additional funding.
  • Build relationships with sponsors and external partners to increase our access to financial resources, form sustainable partnerships, and extend our network.
  • Strengthen unity between the Economics, Finance, and Business departments by ensuring they have equal access to our financial resources; this is also so that we can promise our members a diverse selection of opportunities.
  • Enhance member experience through appropriate budgeting and maintaining EFS’s financial health so that we can present more high-quality events to provide you with a truly immersive experience.

By voting for me, I will manage EFS's finance with your interests in mind and enhance our society's ability to support your career endeavours.

Winston Wang

As a devoted member of the UCL Economics and Finance Society, my journey has been deeply enriched by my passion for economics and the finance industry. My ambition to serve as Treasurer stems from a desire to contribute more significantly to a society that has greatly influenced my academic and professional path.

In this role, I aim to apply my analytical skills and budget management experience to ensure financial efficiency and resourcefulness. My goal is to allocate funds judiciously, enhancing the value provided to our members through educational and career-oriented opportunities.

Collaboration with committee members is crucial. Together, we can foster a culture of innovation and shared learning, broadening our collective understanding of economics and finance. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop skills in financial oversight, teamwork, and strategic planning—skills essential for my aspiring career in finance.

I'm dedicated to transparent, accountable financial management. My aim is a society that thrives financially while fostering personal and professional development, providing a dynamic platform for personal and professional growth for its members. Moreover, my background as president of a start-up, "ScrapCap," in sixth form, and as a swim team captain, underscores my qualifications for this role.

Your support for my candidacy as Treasurer would be immensely appreciated. Together, we can propel our society towards greater achievements.

David Thomas

Hi everyone,

My name is David, and I'm thrilled to run as your treasurer! I'm eager to share why I’m not only competent in handling the treasurer’s responsibilities but also passionate about actively contributing to our collective and individual success and growth.

My Background:

  1. Experience in financial management through involvement with financial ministry and overseeing budget allocations for student organisations
  2. Practical insights gained from diverse internships in handling transactionstracking expenses, and ensuring financial accountability

I believe being treasurer should entail more than just managing numbers.

My plan:

  1. Collaboration: close work with the committee to set goals and foster a supportive community; contribute ideas, offer support, and engage in shaping our direction
  2. Events: while managing finances, I'll assist in planning engaging and informative events, from workshops to networking, ensuring they benefit all members
  3. Engagement: Beyond finances, I'll serve as a resource, providing adviceconnections, and support for our development

Confident in my ability to handle our financial responsibilities, I’m also deeply dedicated to being active and engaged in the committee, contributing to the overall success and vitality of our society and members.

With your support, I'm excited to embark on this journey together.

Thank you for your

Vlad Midoni

Hi! I am Vlad Midoni, current First-Year Representative in the Client Relations division of EFS running for the position of Treasurer.

As an FYR, I have established a track record of representing EFS in the utmost professional manner, but most importantly, I learnt the inner workings of the society, giving me a clear vision of what needs to be done to perpetuate our society’s 70-year esteemed legacy.

My numerous experiences, ranging from being a Brand Ambassador for a start-up to being involved in a $160 million project with the Moldovan Government equipped me with the skills needed to succeed in this role. After all, who better to manage the EFS funds than the person implicated in getting them in the first place?

As treasurer, I plan on aiding the committee in bringing well-structured events and preserving the financial health of the society. Hence, my agenda is EFS for EFS:

  • E - encouraging collaboration - I plan on expanding the society’s portfolio of partnerships and organising joint events with other major university societies from all over the UK.
  • F - forging connections - working with our sponsors to create stronger ties within the finance industry, raising funds, and giving you, the members, the opportunity to network with the most desirable employers.
  • S - spending sustainably - managing the society’s funds with caution, ensuring that we can afford and deliver the best events for our members throughout the year.

Thank you for your time and consideration!
