Declan Loo

Hello! I am Declan Loo, and I am a 1st Year Computer Science student, as well as a current First Year Representative for the Data Science Society. I enjoyed my time being both a member and contributing to the Data Science Society as a FYR, and I am excited to continue contributing to the society in the role of Treasurer. As a Treasurer for the Data Science Society, I will be overseeing the fiscal responsibilities of the society where I will be recording any expenditure or income on behalf of the society and to plan the budget for upcoming society events. With my past experience in financial management, budgeting and record-keeping, I am committed maintaining accurate and transparent financial records of the society, and to manage the society's funds, while allocating money for as many events as we can for our members. I will also work collaboratively with the committee to ensure that every financial decision aligns with the society's goals and benefits our members. I will be creating and regularly updating a financial log so our committee can understand our society's financial position. Do vote for me as your Treasurer, and I pledge to be part of creating a vibrant environment that fosters continuous growth, learning, and inclusivity for everyone within the Data Science Society.

Nakul Goyal

Hi, I'm a 2nd year Computer Science student. In a world dominated by deep learning, I am still a fan of simpler statistical learning methods. I believe data science is a really powerful tool which can be used in nearly all industries so naturally it is something that students studying any subject should know about. This is why I want to be part of the DSS Committee: to organize better events, supported by larger companies, reach a wider audience and help develop skills that matter. As the treasurer, I will be able to ensure the optimal use of society funds for the right causes: more free food counts as a right cause :)

Junho Daniel Chey

Hi, I'm Daniel, a first-year Mathematical Computation student exicted to serve as the treasurer for the Data Science Society. My major, blending Mathematics and Computer Science, perfectly aligns with Data Science—the intersection of Applied Math's applications and Computer Science's tools for real-world impact.

This unique blend equips me with a deep understanding of both fields, enhancing my ability to utilize Data Science tools effectively. I aim to leverage this knowledge to foster a vibrant community within the society, sharing my passion and facilitating a productive environment for those similarly intrigued by Data Science.

Aspiring to be your treasurer, I'm particularly excited about applying my mathematical skills to finance, a domain I'm deeply passionate about. This role offers a direct pathway to contribute significantly to our society's growth and operational efficiency. I'm committed to ensuring financial responsibility and smooth operations, supporting our collective pursuit of excellence in Data Science.

Let's work together to make our society a hub for innovation, learning, and mutual growth!
