Dance Society: Treasurer

I believe I am the ideal candidate for the treasurer position in the dance society. I have exceptional organizational skills and a natural flair for managing events, timelines, and logistics. I am a schedule planner in my daily life and enjoy creating to-do lists and using spreadsheets to organize my everyday tasks, including studying, social events, career tasks, and budgeting. Planning keeps me from procrastinating and adds structure to my life, reducing the uncertainty that can sometimes lead to problems.

My educational background in physics has equipped me with the knowledge of mathematics and analytical skills that are necessary to assess financial trends, identify potential risks, and develop strategies to mitigate them. 

The treasurer is the backbone of the dance society, and I am determined to excel in this position and contribute my skills to the success of the society. I understand that this role holds a position of trust within the society, as the treasurer is responsible for managing the society's funds. I am adaptable and resourceful, able to quickly respond to changing circumstances and implement effective solutions to address financial issues as they arise.

I am passionate about the dance society and the friendships that I have made within it. Although I may not be the best producer or choreographer on stage, I am happy to contribute behind the scenes to make this society great.

For the last 2 years, dance society has been a home at UCL for me. I have thoroughly enjoyed participating in all things dance soc: being in shows, choreographing, attending classes and workshops and going to socials. I've met lots of very cool people and learnt so much! I've been interested in joining the committee and having a larger role in the society for a while now thanks to being so involved with the society since I started at UCL. 

I am standing for treasurer because, as an Economics student, I am maths and money minded! The role of treasurer is where my commitment to dance soc and my non-dance related skills come in handy. I've done work experience in the finance field that is very similar to the admin side of the role. I have also held part time jobs in hospitality alongside studying for 7 years, meaning I am very organised, I've got great communication and interpersonal skills, and I've got a thick old skin. I'm aware of the demands of the role, however my experience and skills allow me to be confident in my ability to handle it!

I am so grateful to dance soc for all the fun I've had and memories I've made so far, and I'm excited at the opportunity to contribute to the behind the scenes aspect and learn even more.
