David Thomas

Hi everyone,

My name is David, and I'm thrilled to run as your treasurer! I'm eager to share why I’m not only competent in handling the treasurer’s responsibilities but also passionate about actively contributing to our collective and individual success and growth.

My Background:

  1. Experience in financial management through involvement with financial ministry and overseeing budget allocations for student organisations
  2. Practical insights gained from diverse internships in handling transactions, tracking expenses, and ensuring financial accountability

I believe being treasurer should entail more than just managing numbers.

My plan:

  1. Collaboration: close work with the committee to set goals and foster a supportive community; contribute ideas, offer support, and engage in shaping our direction
  2. Events: while managing finances, I'll assist in planning engaging and informative events, from workshops to networking, ensuring they benefit all members
  3. Engagement: Beyond finances, I'll serve as a resource, providing advice, connections, and support for our development

Confident in my ability to handle our financial responsibilities, I’m also deeply dedicated to being active and engaged in the committee, contributing to the overall success and vitality of our society and members.

With your support, I'm excited to embark on this journey together.
Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions via: [email protected]

Thank you for your consideration!
David

Hannah James

Having served as the Events Coordinator of Enactus UCL for 2023-24, I've gained invaluable insights into the financial dynamics and needs of our society and our individual projects. I am standing for Treasurer as I strive to build upon the work of our previous Treasurer and ensure that financial reporting is honest and transparent, our income and expenditure records are accurate and up-to-date, and that our financial resources are allocated efficiently and fairly between all projects.

My experience in event coordination has taught me how to meticulously pay attention to details in the budget and come up with innovative cost-saving measures. As a student pursuing the Finance and Accounting minor, I am also well-versed in expense tracking, and financial reporting, skills which will help me deliver the responsibilities of Treasurer more efficiently.

Additionally, I am committed to exploring innovative fundraising strategies and revenue streams through collaborations, sponsorships, and innovative fundraising events to supplement our budget. This will ensure that the society, along with its social events and outreach projects, can continue to grow.

I am steadfast in my commitment to securing UCL Consulting Society’s financial well-being and growth through strategic thinking, open and effective collaboration with the Events team, and my analytical skills, and I hope I am considered for the role of Treasurer.

James Lam

Hi! I’m James, a current First Year Representative in the Consulting Society running for Treasurer.

While the Treasurer oversees the finances of the society, I believe it's also about planning and managing the society's inner affairs. Having assumed multiple leadership positions in the past. My goal as the Treasurer of Consulting Society is to foster a professional yet supportive culture for UCL students in impacting their career and personal growth.

In the upcoming year, I plan on:

1) Assist: Collaborate with the President and work closely with the SU on strategic financial planning, reimbursements and managing paperwork. My focus is on accelerating budgeting and planning processes to achieve efficient administration.

2) Strengthen: Work with the head of sponsorship to ensure the maximum funding through promotional events and partnerships with other societies

3) Enhance: Increase the productivity of our committee by improving the current usage of senior executives and FYRs, therefore not only giving more responsibility to committee members but also ensuring a smoother transition to the next committee.

My participation in organising the inter-uni competition broadened my understanding of the power of our society. I saw firsthand how we connect like-minded individuals, fostering a sense of community while providing tangible opportunities for students to develop their skills and advance their careers. Thank you for your support!
