Junho Daniel Chey

My name is Daniel, a First-Year Mathematical Computation (MathComp) student, I am excited to run for Treasurer of the Computer Science Society. I want to run for 2 important reasons.

Firstly, my MathComp background uniquely equips me with the analytical and financial skills necessary for the treasurer role. My passion for finance, combined with my mathematical skills, positions me as the ideal candidate to manage our society's finances efficiently. I aim to use my abilities to enhance our society's financial health and support its activities, ensuring we maximize every opportunity for our members.

Secondly, my experience as a MathComp student has given me insight into the disconnect between MathComp and Computer Science students within our department. As the first-year representative for MathComp students, I've advocated for our inclusion and voice in the broader Computer Science community. As Treasurer, I intend to bridge this gap further, promoting a more inclusive environment where all students feel valued and integral to our society. My goal is to foster a community where every member's contribution is recognized and celebrated, ensuring MathComp and Computer Science students are equally represented and heard.

In conclusion, my candidacy for Treasurer is founded on a blend of passion, skill, and a vision for a more united and financially robust Computer Science Society. I look forward to the opportunity to serve and make a meaningful difference.

Suhas Hariharan

Hi everyone, I'm Suhas, and I was the Head of Events for the UCL Computer Science Society this year. I organized and helped run numerous events throughout the year, including speaker events with Simon Peyton Jones and a researcher from Google DeepMind. I also helped organize and run our annual hackathon and was a part of nearly every event the society ran during the year.

I'd like to continue working with the society next year in an advisory role as Treasurer, guiding the next committee to keep running amazing events for the CS community at UCL. Ideally, I aim for us to be even more ambitious in seeking external sources of funding to run bigger and better hackathons and events.
