Sasha Lacey

Hi, I’m Sasha 😊 and I would love to be your next UCLBC President.

I’ve loved being part of UCLBC so far and have been so pleased with the impact that I’ve been able to have as Cox Captain. I would be a strong person to lead the boat club as I’m organised, motivated and approachable; I will draw on my previous experience on committee this year, as Deputy Head Girl, and as an ambassador for Women in Sport.

Key priorities:

Happy = fast

  • My vision for the club is one with 4 happy, thriving squads, with a strong community to uplift and inspire past, current, and future members.
  • Foster a group training culture within and between squads.

Communication

  • Greater transparency of communication + equality of information - regular club emails/bulletins and drop-in sessions.
  • Regular alumni bulletins to inform and involve.

Water outings

  • Continue the hard work put in this year to improve safety and training for our all coxes and rowers.
  • A plan for cancelled outings so training is less disrupted by red flags :(

Welfare/outreach

  • Promote club wide training on important issues including mental health, inclusivity, and sexual harassment.
  • Work with SU + other societies to create projects that benefit wider UCL and local communities.

A sense of belonging and community is core to what I hope to achieve next year at UCLBC, joined by a shared commitment to achieving high 😉 and having a laugh while doing it.

Thank you :)
