Hanzade Durmusoglu

I'm aware of how important it is to maintain our club's standards and attend to our members' demands. Thus, I'm excited to give my knowledge and expertise to the club as a committed rower who is passionate about the sport and wants to see its facilities and equipment remain top-notch.

My desire to give back to the club that has given me so many wonderful experiences and friendships is what drives me to serve as Maintenance Officer, wanting to make sure that rowers in the future have access to the same resources and possibilities.

I have the organizational and problem-solving skills and attention to detail necessary for efficient maintenance. I also participated in every maintenance induction session and rigged & re-rigged the good-old Empacher and the purple boat countless times. I am committed to conducting routine inspections and taking preventative action to identify problems before they become serious.

It takes a team to maintain our equipment. I will seek input and feedback from coaches, captains, and members to improve our maintenance procedures. I'll be in close communication with the club, especially the novice crews, regarding the status of the equipment and share regular updates on repairs & schedules to keep the club involved in the process. I also want to introduce newcomers to the fundamentals of maintenance and rowing terminology by hosting maintenance induction sessions.

Yours in rowing (I swear this sign-off is on purpose),

Hanzade Durmusoglu
