I am going for the position of 2nd team captain at UCL's basketball team because having played for the team this year, the enriching journey not only honed my skills on the court but also highlighted the importance of teamwork, leadership, and community. I have met so many people who share the same passion as me as I feel as 2nd year would be the perfect work/life balance to organise lead and build a strong social and winning team. I also went to Paris with UCL basketball and this only made me want to get involved more as I want more people to experience this. I want to specifically be 2s captain due to the fact that the 2s are a good balance of competitive and social team whilst playing and top uni teams around London and the country.

When on the court, I’ll be sure that my team is focused on getting a win at all times. This focus will carry through in practice, where I’ll make sure that the team works hard and trains well to ensure that we come to every game prepared. I will help build a good bond within the team and listen to teammates whilst being a leader .

Following a successful year as 3rd team captain and coach, in which we are on track to finish the season at the top of the league, I believe I can transfer this momentum and success to the 2nd team.

The last year has given me valuable experience with coaching, teaching and running plays, as well as organising trainings and matches. I learnt and implemented a style of offence which played to the strengths of the players in the team, a skill that I can bring to the 2nd team. Along with this, having to adapt with player availabilities as well as the addition and leaving of some players throughout the term means I've learnt how to coach with different groups of players with different strengths. During the year I also organised a 3rd team dinner at Taste of India, in which we went to phineas afterwards. One of my main focuses is the social aspect of the team as I believe this is a massive factor in on court chemistry and contributing to winning.

If given the chance to captain the 2nd team, I believe through my experiences as 3rd team captain, organisation, and focus on team chemistry that the continued success of the 2nd team will be in good hands.
