Milan Bodis

Dear Members,

I am honoured to nominate myself for the position of President. As a fourth-year student returning from a year abroad in Canada, I am pursuing a double major in History of Art and French. During the part 10 years I have had the privilege to work and live across seven countries, enriching my understanding of art, culture, and international business.

My hands-on experience in the art world includes significant contributions to the organization of Europe's largest street art exhibition, Beyond Streets, during my time at the Saatchi Gallery. Additionally, I've had the privilege of working on projects at the Design Museum as part of an opportunity found through UCL careers.

With a passion for fostering genuine connections and utilizing all the available resources, I am committed to transforming our society into a dynamic platform that bridges academia with real-world opportunities. Let's collaborate to turn aspirations into achievements and ensure that the Art Business Society serves as a catalyst for your future success. My goal is to have a great time, be able to network, mingle and spend some quality time in like minded community!

Thank you for considering my candidacy. I am excited about the possibility of leading and serving our community with dedication and enthusiasm.

Warm regards,

Milan Bodis

Yifei Tang

I’d like to bring more attention on women and their achievements in the business world. In a male-dominated art world, I’d like to bring the spotlight on to women and their paths to success.

As someone with an ethnic background, I hope to highlight the unnoticed artists in indigenous cultures and focusing in on the art markets of developing economies to feature the potentials they hold.

I want to hone in on the intersection between art and business, zooming in on it as a prospective career path and bring more possibilities for students in the worlds of business and art.

I was History of Art society chair during Sixth Form and believe my organisations, communications and coordination skills will aid my role in the society. I also believe I have the ability to bring new and fresh perspectives into the society.

I'm excited for potentials and new discussions around art or shifts happening in the art world. I’m passionate about art and what artists are doing and how they are changing with time and technology, which are qualities I believe would align with the society.

I am currently doing a BA History of Art and my passion for art, with a keen interest in the business aspects of the art world, drives my commitment to contribute meaningfully to the society’s goals and activities. I’m bringing a unique perspective that can foster discussions and initiatives. My enthusiasm, skills and dedication align with the society’s goals and aims and I am excited to contribute to the society.

Savanah James

Hi! My name is Savanah and I’m a 2nd year History of Art student. I’m from Hong Kong and NYC, and was your External Relations Officer this year and am looking to run for President.

The focus of my plans as president are to 1) re-vamp participation, 2) elevate our society’s reputation on campus and within the industry, and 3) find and create new avenues for member opportunities. As president, I have a few projects in mind that are rooted in my observations from this past year. Firstly, with a better understanding of the key dates in the London art calendar, I’m prepared to reach out to fairs and exhibitions far in advance to secure free tickets for our members. Frieze, Art Basel, and London Art Week all require ticket requests months in advance and I’m prepared to fight for access! Alongside this, I would propose the launching of an Art Business newsletter to give our members opportunities to get involved in art writing, art publishing, and marketing. Lastly, after toying with the idea on committee this year, I would take the summer time to thoroughly investigate merch production possibilities to provide our members in the fall with tasteful and classy tote bags, crewnecks, reusable coffee mugs, fountain pens etc. This will assist in establishing our identity on the UCL campus as a key society, elevate our reputation, and improve membership, engagement, and subsequently our access to resources and connections.

Thank you for reading and thank you for your consideration!
