Hi! My name is Emilia! I am from Poland, and I am going into my second year of Social Sciences with Data Science BSc at UCL. I am a profound art lover, which is why I want to get more involved with the Art Business Society. I have shaped my sensitivity for art since the age of 5 when I started playing instruments. I then continued to develop my interest further by choosing art history as one of my advanced subjects in my final high school exams. Living in London, I have become a member of one of the museums and I try to stay up to date with new exhibitions and happenings in the art industry. I am standing for the role of Business Development Officer primarily because I feel confident in working on improving executive strategies, and I want to get to know more about the Art Business Industry. I will be happy to work with a team of passionate people and devote my time to improving the functioning of the Art Business Society.
I believe that my unique background as a law student can add to the quality of events which the Art Buiness Society organises for its members. A common misconception is that the art world is very inaccessible. However, I believe that organisations in both the primary and secondary art markets are looking to nurture talent and form strategic partnerships. Our society is the platform through which they can pique interest and market themselves effectiveless to the next generation of professionals. Art lawyers I speak to begin most comically by admitting that they wandered into this field by accident and marvel at our students entering into the industry with purpose. I hope to assist the committee in obtaining more external investment with a stake in the passion and ambitions of our members. This will hopefull expand the scope and prominence of our events
Given our proximity to many art institutions, I hope to develop more intercollegiate collaoration and cooperation. This creates a space for our members to socialise aongst like-minded peers ad grow their networks with future colleagues.
I strongly believe our society's outreach can grow even wider and create a wealth of opportunity for our members. The success of last year's programme is owed to the outgoing committee and eager members. The camaraderie is so inspriing. Savannah in partiular has done a wonderful job this past year. I hope to pay her commitment forward and take ABS to greater heights
