Sungjoo Yoon

I am standing for the position of Treasurer within UCL's 180 Degree Consulting Society because I believe I have the dedication required to contribute positively to our society's growth and inclusivity. Despite not having had the opportunity to participate in past consulting programs, I see this as a strength; it provides me with an outsider's perspective on how we can enhance our society's accessibility and engagement, ensuring that no interested individual feels left out.

As an Economics student, I possess a strong foundation in financial principles and possibly budget management, crucial skills for the Treasurer role. I am committed to applying this knowledge to manage our society's funds transparently and efficiently, ensuring that resources are allocated in a way that maximises the benefits for all members and allows for the hosting of diverse and inclusive events.

Furthermore, I intend to introduce new initiatives to open more opportunities for members like me, who have yet to engage fully with society's offerings. My goal is to ensure that our society not only continues to provide valuable consulting experience but also becomes a hub where every UCL student interested in consulting can find a welcoming community, professional growth, and personal development. I am eager to bring my fresh perspective, financial acumen, and passion for inclusivity to the Treasurer position to help our society reach new heights.

Alice Smeys

Running for Treasurer, I bring a blend of real-world experience and academic involvement. My commitment to our society is evident through my attendance at speaker events, where I've gained valuable insights into the consulting and financial sectors. This engagement has not only enriched my understanding but has also motivated me to continuously apply for consulting projects within our society.

My hands-on experience has equipped me with an appreciation for the strategic and financial planning that underpins successful consulting projects. As Treasurer, I aim to apply these insights to manage our society's finances effectively, ensuring we have the resources to support impactful projects and professional development opportunities for our members.

Deeply committed to social and environmental change, leading my eco committee - organising events to lower my school's carbon footprint and managing finances - reflects my dedication. This commitment will be further enriched by my upcoming consulting internship at KPMG in summer 2024, blending practical skills with a passion for consulting as my chosen career path. Together, these experiences emphasize my drive to use consulting for meaningful social impact.

Additionally, my tenure as head of debate honed my communication, planning, and teamwork skills, further preparing me to contribute effectively to our society's mission. My goal is to foster financial health at 180 Degrees Consulting, that champions social responsibility.

Prachi Saraf

I’m Prachi, a 2nd year PPE student, and I’m excited to run for the role of Treasurer of 180 Degrees Consulting Society. With my involvement in 180DC so far, including a year as Events Executive and previously in the Social Impact Case Competition, my academic background in economics, and my commitment to the success of 180DC in connecting and educating our members, I believe I am equipped to take on the role.

My experience in event planning and collaboration with industry leaders, for example with the Strategy& workshop, have helped me understand the importance of fostering relationships that not only enhance our events but also secure the financial stability of 180DC. Working to secure sponsorships that align with 180DC’s ethos will be key, ensuring our events are both enriching and financially sustainable. Further, working closely with the President and rest of the team will be crucial to support our diverse range of events, from professional workshops to social gatherings, ensuring they are well-funded and reflect the interests of our members.

As Treasurer my focus will be on strategic financial planning and effective fund management, ensuring that 180DC not only continues to offer valuable learning experiences but also grows sustainably. I look forward to contributing to 180DC from a financial perspective next year, helping to expand our impact and ensuring the growth and development of our members and community!
