Amelie Ye

Hi! I am running for the position of Consulting Director at 180DC.

My journey as a consultant with 180DC has been nothing short of transformative. Working with a talented and collaborative team, I've witnessed firsthand the tangible impact our work has had on non-profits. I have also been an active participant in Case Club, where I acquired many useful skills and met inspiring people. With all these positives, I hope to take on a more involved role within the organization.

My experiences as the President of the Environment Society and Swim Team Captain in high school have equipped me with the necessary leadership and communication skills for this role.

In the role of Consulting Director, I plan to:

  • Launch skill-building workshops to enhance strategic analysis, communication, and problem-solving skills for consultants
  • Establish a mentorship program pairing new consultants with experienced professionals for knowledge transfer and professional growth
  • Support project teams with a structured system of regular check-ins, ensuring challenges are addressed promptly and progress is steadily maintained
  • Identify and secure a variety of upcoming projects that target different sectors, broadening our skill set and maximizing societal impact

I am eager to leverage my skills and experiences to further the mission of 180DC and I look forward to leading and supporting our team. I welcome the opportunity to discuss how my vision and strategies can contribute to our success.

Duncan Lee

Hi. I'm Duncan and I'm running for Consulting Director at 180DC UCL.

Having been on board as a team lead for both projects this year, my journey at 180DC has been a challenging but rewarding experience. Not only have I gained hands-on experience in managing a consulting project, but I've also met and worked with amazing people on my team and the committee (which is the best part). Seeing how much student consultants can contribute to and take home from real consulting experiences, I'd love to take part in expanding its impact as a consulting director in the coming year.

A consulting director is responsible for client relationships as well as securing high-quality projects. As a team lead, I was able to maintain an effective and strong relationship with the client during the first term (we got the "client besties" award AHAHAHAA), as the client has expressed expanding its partnership with 180DC UCL in the second term. Having the opportunity to work with the same client for two consecutive projects, I understand what it takes to strengthen existing and expanding potential client relationships.

A consulting director is also responsible for overseeing consulting projects and securing high-quality training for consultants. Apart from my exposure as a team lead, I've had other experiences involving project management in a team environment at Cathay Pacific and multiple startups ranging from AI to digital marketing, and Web 3.0. I look forward to not only sharing my insights and guidance but also to learning from the incoming

Niko Stavropoulos

UCL 180DC!

Having served as a Consultant and now a Team Lead for 180, I have thoroughly enjoyed working with intelligent teams committed to making social impact. Outside of 180, I have made charity work a priority in my life, most recently as a mentor for IntoUniversity. I hope to use my experiences in 180 and with charities to enable our 180 consulting teams to complete exciting and impactful projects as Consulting Director next year!

I have four key initiatives to improve 180 as a Consulting Director:

  • Strategy Consulting Projects: Although fundraising is always a key need for non-profits, 180 is about providing insightful and exciting consulting experience to students. Therefore, I will ensure at least one half of all projects are unrelated to fundraising, focused on strategic recommendations.
  • More sustainability projects: I know many of you are eager to address climate change through sustainability related projects. Therefore, I will ensure at least one third of all projects relate to sustainability.
  • Consulting Director feedback: I will guarantee that consulting directors will review all slide decks to provide feedback and edits prior to both midterm and final presentations.
  • Inter-University Projects: Having been a part of both joint-projects this term, I know how enjoyable the inter-university collaboration can be. I will promise two inter-university projects per term!

Thank you all for your time and consideration!

- Niko Stavropoulos

Daniel Hung

Interned at EY Advisory Services Limited in their Consulting - Enterprise Risk department last summer.

Currently studying Pharmacy and looking to go into Life Science Consulting. Have had a few interviews for Consulting internships, happy to share my experience with you!

My plan as Consulting Director:

  1. Engagement through Mentorship: Initiate a peer-to-peer mentorship program where experienced consultants guide newcomers, facilitating knowledge transfer and a supportive network.
  2. Partnerships: Actively seek out partnerships with a wide range of organisations, ensuring that our consulting projects span different sectors and challenges.
  3. Practical Training Regime: Collaborate with industry experts to design practical, scenario-based training sessions that prepare our consultants for real-world challenges.
  4. Impact Measurement System: Develop a system to quantify the outcomes of our projects, providing feedback to teams and showcasing our value to current and potential partners.
Thomas Chan

Hi I'm Thomas and I am running for Consulting Director! I truly enjoyed working as a consultant with 180DC this year and hope to make our society even better.

I would like to:

  • Fun projects: Projects' quality matters (SAY NO to dull projects.. ugh)
    1. Next year, I would like to search for exciting projects, e.g. climate-related or sustainability projects, and even outside the UK, fuelling students' passion for positively impacting the world.
    2. Let's explore more meaningful deliverables by giving students hands-on experience in strategy decisions! NO BORING ADMIN WORK/ REPORT TYPING
  • More education
    1. Improving the onboarding training: Implementing a 1-week induction training program (instead of a 1-hour talk) to enhance our projects' quality.
    2. Expanding the Case Clubs: Expanding the Case Club by working with the UCL ConSoc to provide quality training and extend case club to term 2. Also initiating a Buddy Scheme to pair up inspiring consultants to prepare cases better

Why me?

  • Experience in External Relations: As the VP of the UCL ConSoc, I have organised more than 20 events, ranging from talks to the national Inter-Uni Competition-- I have experience communicating with external parties and maintaining good relations with them, a core quality that the Consulting Director must have.
  • FUN: I love photographing, baking, and even singing (tho terrible). Think big! Perhaps these can be some exciting client projects we can work on next year?

Thanks for reading :)
