Kavish Shetty

I am Kavish, and I’ve been playing tennis for almost a decade now. Tennis is not just a sport for me; it’s an integral part of my life. The court is a place for me to be myself and express my true emotions. It is a psychological game, just like chess, where you have to be prepared for your opponent's every move. Hence, I am keen to apply for this position as it will allow me to further contribute to the society. I am well-versed with the workings of the society, having attended weekly training sessions for a considerable period. This has allowed me to understand the system, and I believe that I can use this experience to possibly  improve the training sessions for all members. I am particularly interested in the LUSL Rec captain position as it will provide a great platform for me to exhibit my leadership skills. I have had the privilege of playing numerous matches in the division and have been fortunate enough to be part of teams that have won two competitions. Furthermore, I am confident in my ability to lead the team with good spirit and communication, having had leadership experience before. As Budget Manager for my school's TEDx team, I managed finances for the event, delegated duties to subordinates, ensured a smooth event. Also, I had captained my U-16 tennis team in high school, which further honed my leadership and teamwork skills. I believe that my past experiences have provided me with the necessary skills to be a valuable addition to the society.

Daniel Chan

I'm currently a first year studying Econ and Stats. My reason for applying is quite simply, to get more involved with LUSL recreation next year. I'd like to help organize things, learning from Leo and Zoe's footsteps. I have played in a couple of matches for the LUSL recreational team, and helped out a bit initially with sorting the sign-up sheets etc. I have not been able to play as much tennis as I had hoped this year, so I would like to take full advantage of this opportunity. Hopefully, this would enable to motivate myself to get more involved with the tennis club in general, and at the same time motivate others as well to get more involved, whilst helping everyone develop their interests in the amazing sport of tennis.
