When I joined tennis at the start of the year, I was met by a crowd of incredible people from across UCL and have made many friendships. Going to the weekly sessions has been a highlight of my first year at university. Now that I’m going into my second year, I would love to play a more active part within the community and make R&D tennis something that people look forward to every week by passing on my experience.

Amelia O'Hara

Hi everyone! I’m Amelia and I would love to be your R&D coordinator next year! I have played tennis since I can remember and always loved the sport. Since joining the weekly R&D sessions this year, I have been able to improve my technique and meet many new people.

The R&D sessions have always been fun, welcoming, and supportive, and this is something I am enthusiastic to continue! I would love to support new players to the sport and help improve the skills of existing players. Seeing people’s tennis technique and confidence improve this year has been amazing!

I love working in a team and promise to be enthusiastic, organised, and there to help (even when it’s cold and raining!!).

Quincy Ng

Hey everyone!

I'm a current M3 BUCS player and LTA Level 1 Assistant, and I am applying to the R&D Coordinator position.

Playing recreational tennis is where everyone starts their tennis journey, and I would love to help develop and be a part of that. Being impressed by the current R&D coordinators and their dedication to the social sessions, continuing that is the goal for me.

From seeing people improve their down-the-line shots, to their slices across the court à la Federer, nurturing interest and improvement in tennis is paramount in R&D. As a BUCS player and LTA Level 1 Assistant, helping new and social players slam their shots would be second-nature to me, all while having fun!

I hope you consider my nomination to this position, as a candidate willing to dedicate time, energy and thought to each R&D session.

Phoebe E Luxford

This year I have really enjoyed R&D and would like to take it to the next step by helping run the sessions. I am well-organised, reliable and enthusiastic.

I've been a tennis member for a year and have improved my skills through weekly coaching. I would love to help teach R&D tennis and contribute to the society!

Thank you!
