Tennis Club: BUCS W2 Captain

Hi! my name is Louise-Marie.

I’m currently in my 3rd year of MSci Biological Sciences and Head of UCL Recreational and Developmental (R&D) tennis. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working as part of the committee of this beautiful society and that’s why I’m running for W2 captain this year!

As head of the R&D team, I was required to plan and lead training session for the biggest section of UCL tennis and to communicate about events of the society. I have developed strong skills that I can use to become a successful captain for our W2 team.

I’ve also competed at a reasonably high level since I was young in France, eventually reaching the equivalent of 4.2 rating in the UK. I have been part of W2 for a year now and I hope to bring my competitive and relentless side to the rest of my teammates to ensure a united and performing squad!

I also believe the key to success on the tennis court is a team that gets along well. I was lucky to have Devlin as captain who created a welcoming and competitive atmosphere and I intend to honour the tradition and organise night outs, dinners and social events. Finally of course, any newcomers – I was in a familiar situation in my first year, arriving in the society after Christmas and I met amazing people through tennis. So I will try as much as I can to make our team welcoming to all!
