I would like to run for Vascular Surgery chair for a second time as I believe I am well-equipped to bring out the most from this role. Previous to this year, the Vascular Surgery subcommittee did not have social media or a logo giving me the opportunity to establish both. As chair of the subcommittee, I led a team of nine and we held numerous events including talks and a systematic review series in collaboration with a prominent vascular journal. However, we have more projects and opportunities in the pipeline that require just a bit more time, for example, a systematic review research opportunity with a professor, shadowing schemes at the Royal Free, and more collaborative webinars with a number of different vascular surgeons. Running for a second time would allow us to see these projects come to fruition and provide great opportunities for the students. Moreover, I have also experience from being on the pilot committee of BMMA as an outreach officer as well as experience from being on the Student MedAid London committee. Within these roles, I've had to liaise with doctors, organise events including research opportunities for students, and interestingly, I even wrote a blog post about cardiovascular health in migrant populations. Furthermore, I am currently doing an iBSc in cardiovascular sciences providing me with substantial scientific knowledge that may be required for this role.
