First impressions are crucial, and in today's world, many students' initial perception of a society comes from its media presence, whether it be Instagram, Facebook, or posters on campus. Media provides an excellent opportunity for us to reach out to people on a massive scale
We all know how good the socials, trainings, and trips are, and that once someone has come to one, they're likely to come back. Therefore my goal is to attract new members to the club on a large scale via an aggressive multimedia strategy. This would consist of social media posts, emails to those who show interest at the welcome fair, as well as print media around campus that showcases the dynamic, fun, and welcoming nature of the society. As well as this, weekly posts about socials and other events would continue, with highlights of competitions and major events being uploaded, demonstrating both the fun and competitive sides of the society.
I have a creative mind and a vision for various projects designed to extend our reach, and using my knowledge of Photoshop, Premier Pro, and Illustrator, would bring them to life. I have taken photos for the society at many events over the past two years, as well as running my own photography business, including working with Red Bull. I would continue to film and take pictures at events in future to not only create material to attract new members, but to give you, the existing ones, a record of all the fantastic memories we all make as a part of this great society
Hey I’m Ben and I would love to be next year's Snowsports Media Sec.
Inclusivity is at the heart of my campaign.
I want to bring people from the library to Phineas and Phineas to the dry slope.
Filmmaking, photography and being creative, will show UCL how fun snowsports is. Our punchy and colourful instagram, will create a brand everyone wants to be a part of - from vlogging trips to vlogging sessions, people will be begging for more.
Tiktok trends will be key to snowsports advertising. Making our own or taking UCL twists on current trends will be because all members will have a creative right to be able to post new tiktoks on the snowsports page.
I have done freelance work for media campaigns, including film making and advertisements as well as created a youtube channel and edited vlogs, giving me experience in all elements of media production.
An increase in content production and social media activity will give snowsports a bigger name than ever in UCL. This means we will have more members than ever, which means more funding than ever - because let's be real, who doesn’t want to go to a curry night dressed as your favourite tube stop once a month. . .
