Over the last 2 years of producing written content at UCL, I have learned that editing is an incredibly rewarding role when the content is something you enjoy! I have been a consistent contributor to Kinesis - the life science magazine - as a writer for 2 print issues and an editor for 2 more, along with serving as web editor this year. This has provided me with extensive experience editing scientific articles of a broad subject range, through which I have developed my sense for finding structural, content-related and grammatical improvements to bring the most out of a writer's abilities.

As for experience more relevant to the tech category, I have independently conducted interviews with researchers covering novel neural network applications, which involved significant preliminary research to find subjects and questions, editing transcripts, and quickly developing a working understanding of new, complex technology. More generally, since my everyday life consists of studying Chemical Engineering/Robotics and involvement in STEM-related societies, I can provide a confident basis for fundamental concepts and current events in tech.

Having written for SciMag once this year, I am familiar with the approach the magazine takes with its writers. Given the quality and diversity of topics in articles I have read so far, I would love to engage in a more hands-on way. I look forward to continuing to be a part of the magazine next year and I hope you will consider me for tech editor!
